One free idea a week at creativesparks.be

Since childhood we have been told to share what we have in abundance.

Over and over again people keep telling us we have so many ideas. In fact, we have over 20 years of ideas collected in notebooks and sketch books that have never been realised. As time is limited, we are not able to execute those product or business ideas ourselves. That’s why we are launching Creative Sparks, a creative blog with growing ideas for inspiration. On a weekly basis, we will share a free product or business idea.

Hopefully through sharing, we can inspire, invite and motivate tomorrow’s entrepreneurs to create a better future together.

  • Sven Nys Casual wear collection 2013-2014

For the second year in a row, PinkOliv designed the Casual Wear collection of the world’s best cyclo-cross rider of his generation, Sven Nys. Sven won the World Championships in Louisville in 2013 and inspired both his fans and our designers to come up with this season’s design theme.

Since Sven is the current World Champion, it was an obvious choice to go for a champion-related theme. We didn’t get fooled though by the endless possibilities; In stead, we focussed on the essence of the collection. The logo was revamped with some World Champion colors and we figured out several ways to use this theme on different products, ending up with 3 main graphic variations that were applied through different technologies, mainly: embossing, screen printing and embroidery.

Although we were still quite insecure of the chosen design direction, Sven had reassured us several times that the new design really fit his personality: Most designs are sober but  visually very strong. ‘The collection really suits me’, Sven explains. The collection mainly uses black and green in combination with the other rainbow colours which are associated with the world champion title.

  • City Mountainbike 2013

    City Mountainbike 2013

The future is bright for the organisation of the City Mountainbike, previously known as City Mountainbike Challenge. PinkOliv was contracted to advise on the new marketing strategy and finally also on the creation of the new logo, full event branding and webdesign.

The fresh yet bold corporate identity breaks with the two-tone style from the past. From 2013 onwards the focus of the event will be on city-marketing, ecological values and the community. The new html5 website is breaking with conventional website design. It is conceived as an event app rather than a website and is designed to work on any platform or device. The hardest part of the job was not to make it look nice, but to fit hundreds of innovative features in a plain, intuïtive web interface…

  • The HERO is in YOU campaign for NODRUGS

The HERO is in YOU campaign for NODRUGS

January has been a harsh month for international cycling. One ambitious sports wear brand from Belgium has always been loyal to its values and launched its new campaign exactly on the night that 7-times Tour winner (uhum) Lance Armstrong admitted that he had been using performance enhancing drugs while taking all of his Tour victories.

With ‘the HERO IS IN YOU’ NODRUGS sportswear emphasizes that you need to believe in your inner strength, not in all the heroes around you since too many of them have fallen from their pedestal lately. Frontmen and woman of the campaign are double IronMan Hawaï winner Luc Van Lierde, Belgian Champion Bike Trial Iciar Van den Bergh and Belgium’s leading mountainbike marathon lady Kim Saenen.

  • Launch of Lenkes finest Liquor

PinkOliv was contracted to create the logo, brand image and marketing material for a unique liquor based on the original Cuberdons from Geldhof.

The local entrepreneur Luc Verlinden and his wife created a smart recipe for a liquor based on the original Cuberdons from Geldhof. The original artisanal cuberdons are made according to a secret recipe dating back to 1873 and are recognised as a traditional Flemish local product from the Geldhof family.

PinkOliv was contracted for the challenging task of creating the logo, brand and marketing material for this new liquor brand. We managed to create exactly the image the client was looking for: a sense of tradition with a unique twist of joyful freshness.

It is this unique and professional branding -besides the exquisite taste- that convinced the Geldhof family that these products should carry the original Geldhof label from the moment they would hit the market.

  • Sven Nys Cycling

Teaming up with the world’s best Cyclo-Cross rider ever.

From January 2012 up to 2015, we will be designing, developing and distributing a unique Sven Nys Cycling collection with a range of Cycling Wear and Casual wear. But the goal of the partnership between Sven Nys and PinkOliv is to establish a long term vision on Sven’s name as a trusted brand.

‘The Cannibal of Baal’ has an amazing career which was the source of inspiration for this new collection that starts with a range of products and will gradually grow over the following years. ‘My Legacy’ represents a range of concepts with names like ‘Koppenberg King’, ‘Emperor of Belgian Cyclo-Cross’, ‘Mister Superprestige’ and so on. All these ‘special editions’ match perfectly with a set of ‘Essentials’: bibshorts, bibtights, winter jackets, arm and leg warmers, … .

The first outcome of the project, the launch of the ‘Legacy’ collections and the new approach to the brand, is very successful and proved that PinkOliv’s approach to the brand is both very unique and effective.

  • SWS wheels by Kris Seminck

Hand built quality wheels for speed devils

SWS Wheels is providing some of the world’s best cyclo-cross riders with top quality hand built wheel sets. Sven Nys is only one of the riders of the Landbouwkrediet-KDL Trans cycling team that has been using the wheels of Kris Seminck over the last months. With a growing business in mind, it was about time that his own brand got up to speed as well so PinkOliv was contracted to create a top notch graphic design for the SWS rims.

Translating the core values of a brand into 3D product graphics is always a tricky job. Nevertheless, at PinkOliv we are always up to the challenge. We came up with a smart modular design for high carbon fiber rims and low aluminum rims with a range of colour tones to match the bicycle frame of the rider. Fast and furious?

  • 30SEVEN heated cycling wear

The innovative collection of heated cycling wear which we developed for the Belgian company Belginova, immediately got nominated for the 2011 Bike Motion Award. The professional jury was clear: ‘Heated sports wear is without any doubt a huge innovation for the cycling sector’.

PinkOliv got in on the very first stage of the project and was responsable for anything except the technology itself. We created a new brand concept and strategy and designed an innovative cycling wear collection that uses the heating technology developed by Belginova. With this technology, we can improve the comfort level of most cyclists during cold months. Though we didn’t design the technology as such, we did design the way it is used in cycling wear and how it is integrated in all products. Furthermore PinkOlive was responsible for the brand name, the branding and all marketing guidelines for the first release.

  • V-Formation branding

    V-Formation, makes everyone move!

V-Formation is a young Belgian company specialised in custom team building activities, sports camps and school camps using amazingly large attractions. Recently, they received a complete make-over. After 4 years of existence, it was about time to say goodbye to the V-man and welcome a new corporate identity with a logo that evoces motion, fresh icons, dynamic lay-outs and an assertive tone of voice.

It was a challenging task to guide the 2 owners into the world of branding and design, but the result is worth the effort. It’s great to make them proud of their own business!

  • Sportorders.eu

Branding of Sportorders, manufacturer and distributer of top quality sports products.

The trick was to create a professional brand image that reflects the company’s main goal: producing and distributing quality sports products. Since Sportorders is a facilitating company, so should its visual identity support the premium sports brands without ‘overruling’ them.

The result is a professional, sleek corporate identity that combines blacks and greys that are visually seperated by a green curve. With the new identity comes a visual language for images and advertisements, a flexible website, styling of the online distributors shop, etc. Check it out!

  • Hageland Mountainbike School

Teaching kids from 6-14 to have fun on the bike!

In the fall of 2010 Maarten Gybels launched a new official mountainbike training school in Belgium. PinkOliv offered its dedicated sports branding services.

We used illustrations and slogans to communicate what the school is all about: improving your biking skills while having fun! Practice proofed that this approach is appealing both the kids and their parents and the first issue of the school turned out to be a big success. We translated the chosen style into a variety of branding material and a simple, clear website.

  • Tribe Chair featured in Canvas TV-show ‘Reyers Laat’

The Flemish television channel ‘Canvas’ aquired a bunch of Tribe Chairs for their new TV show ‘Reyers Laat’ that can be seen every weekday (except Wednesdays). The public is seated on the white Tribe seating elements around the table of the interviewer. Although the chair was not designed especially for this kind of purpose, it seems to do the job just fine.

More information about the Tribe Chair on our client’s website: www.xlboom.com.
